The Air Training Corps is a military youth organisation for young people between 13-20 years. As an original Air Training Corps squadron, 95 (Crewe) Squadron is proud to have been providing new and exciting experiences for young people from all backgrounds in the area since 1938.

HIGH flying Crewe teenager Sergeant Vici Bates took the controls to one of the RAF’s most valued aircrafts this summer.

Cadet Ben gets sky high thrills in first jet flight

A TEENAGER from Wistaston proved himself a high flyer when he was selected to fly in a Tucano jet. Corporal Ben Robinson of 95 (Crewe) Squadron Air Training Corps took to the skies in the fast jet, which can reach a maximum speed of 345mph and retain a speed of 310mph at low level, whilst on the ATC summer camp at RAF Lynton-on-Ouse with cadets from Crewe, Nantwich, Sandbach and Biddulph.

Pupils' ambitions are sky high

Cadet' spirits were flying high recently when they were awarded BTEC First Diplomas in Aviation Studies. Corporals Fryderyka Gumosz and Ben Robinson, both aged 16, of 95 (Crewe) Squadron Air Cadets were awarded their certificates at a presentation evening held at Staffordshire Wing ATC Headquarters at MOD Stafford.

The BTEC involved studying topics such as map reading, principles of flight, air frames, navigation, proportion and communication. Both cadets also recently gained their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Awards and are now working towards achieving their Silver Awards.

ATC Celebrates 65th Birthday

Friday 3rd September was a night of celebration for the Borough of Crewe and Nantwich's oldest services cadet organisation, 95 (Crewe) Squadron Air Training Corps. The banquet to mark the occasion was hosted by the Mayor of the Borough, Councillor Steven Roberts and Mayoress June Roberts and the function took place in the Council Chamber of the Municipal Buildings.
